Design process

This is what I started with.....a drawing of a UH1Y

I am not an artist myself, so I scour the internet to find the perfect picture. This one happened to be in my files from Mr. Skidz's old squadron.

The image then gets digitized so that the embroidery machine can read it.

This is the applique version of it. Applique is when you use one fabric and sew it onto another fabric/surface.

I also have a filled design of the UH1Y that will be released soon as well!!

Hey y'all! Our kickball team (New Kicks on the Block) is raising money this season for one of my favorite non profits, the American Widow Project. I was introduced to the AWP in 2009 when a friend of mine attended a widow retreat. She had a wonderful time and meeting other widows really helped her through a traumatic and difficult time. SOTE (salt of the earth) Nomades charms

Wondering what our SOTE (salt of the earth) charms are all about? We take sand and/or dirt that is precious to you, clean it, and put it into charms for you! I am very excited to get my SOTE heart charms for my children. 3 with Camp Lejeune sand and 1 with Camp Pendleton in it! I also used the coloring process (pink or blue) to further personalize them. 3 pink and 1 blue!! I can't tell you how much we can personalize our charms to tell your story!!

Winter months decor

Does anyone else struggle with what to put on their front door in the winter months? I know that I do! I love love love this bronze door hanger so I typically change out the arrangements in it. This is what I came up with this year. Thoughts? Critiques? How about pictures of your own stuff to help a sister out??

Organization goal #1

Besides organizing the sewing studio, my biggest organizational goal of 2016 is to finish my UFO'S. What is a UFO you might ask? It's not what you are thinking!  They are Unfinished objects. I set lofty goals of 5 personal and 5 business UFO's until I am caught up!

Goodness gracious! Has anyone else been using their seam ripper wrong their whole lives too? I wanted to share the knowledge for all my other sewing enthusiasts! I hope that I won't have to test it out super soon but I am very happy to know that I will be doing it correctly now!

Hootsuite Tutorial with Bonus Tips and Tricks

I was recently introduced to Hootsuite and wanted to share the love for all my other small business counterparts. This has literally been a life saver and I am only 48 hours into it!

Somewhat of an addiction......

I like most fabric lovers have a TON of fabric. I was starting my 2016 organization project in the sewing studio and I decided to go ahead and purge! I am trying to use only fabric and blanks that I have in stock so as to reduce the amount of items and weight that I have for SWC. (Weight comes into play when we have to move again and the military tells us how much we should have!)

Teacher's gifts.....

Anyone else running far behind in this season of joy?

Yeah me too! I am about to head off to my middle daughter's pre-school for her cookie decorating and Christmas concert. What am I doing at home in the last 30 minutes? Well I am finishing up Christmas gifts for the teachers, isn't that what you would be doing?

I ran into 3 busy moms who were off to do the very same thing. Why do we do that to ourselves as moms?

Will you join me in my journey in 2016 as I take a jump into being a more healthy me? One of the things that I am working towards accomplishing is becoming more organized personally and professionally.
